Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) Module
Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) technology was invented by Dr. Norden E Huang, a chief scientist and mathematician at Goddard Space Flight Center of NASA. HHT is a highly efficient, adaptive, and user- friendly set of algorithms capable of analyzing time-varying signals. Advantages of HHT over other common signal analysis techniques, like Fourier Transforms, are that it is more precise and accurate, capable of sharper filtering while preserving the integrity of the data. It is also flexible with the types of data it can analyze, since it does not require the datasets to be linear and stationary. The invention of HHT led to a Federal Laboratory Consortium “Technology Leadership Award” for the HHT method in 2000, as well as recognition as one of R&D magazine’s “R&D 100” (a list of the top 100 inventions of the year) in 2001, the “NASA Government Invention of the Year” in 2003, and the “Service to America Medal” in 2006.

DynaDx Corporation® obtained the exclusive right of HHT techololy and its related applications from NASA. DataDemon software has implemented the latest HHT codes from Dr. Huang and NASA. It is the official version of HHT implementation, though there are several implementation exists. Due to the IP right, DataDemon is the only commercial software with buidl-in HHT technology. Besides the accuracy, DataDemon’s HHT runs more than 200 times faster than similar Matlab code.
